Google looking for non english materials

Google is asking book publishers in Europe to submit non-english materials for its search engine to grow its digital library across the globe in many launguages. Increasing visitors to its website, and generating more revenue from the Google AdSense™ advertising program.

Google announced an aggressive print book scanning project to publishers all over France, Italy, Germany, Netherlands and Spain. This extreme undertaking by Google marks a giant leap to convert all printed materials into digital search format for the entire world to see. By indexing this material, virtually anyone with a computer and internet connection can search for a wide array of worldwide materials.

This new service will greatly increase Google’s visitors to its website, and in turn will generate more advertising revenue.

Google’s current database currently includes only materials from US, Canada and Australia.
