Today marks the day of Googles 7th birthday!
Google’s official birthday is September 7, 1998, and Larry Page and Sergey Brin are its creators. With $100,000 in funding from a Stanford faculty member, Google was off and running. On September 7, 1998, Google Inc. opened its door in Menlo Park, California. Google.com, still in beta ath this time, was answering 10,000 search queries each day.
On September 21, 1999, after rounds of funding and a move to the GooglePlex, the beta label came off the website. As 2000 ended, Google was already handling more than 100 million search queries a day, and continued to look for new ways to connect people with the information they needed.
Whats next from Google? Not sure - but Im sure we all cant wait to see! Arent you glad they changed the name from BackRub to Google.
