Google fights for the Internet in Washingon

Google is fighting for the internet in the nations capital, Washington, fighting policy makers, participating in the policy process and contribute to the debates that inform it. Google is planning on defending the Internet as a free and open platform for information, communication and innovation.


Google is standing up for the Internet and defending the Internet as a free and open platform in Washington DC by opening up a “Google shop” there. They have started the shop an Associate Director at the Center for Democracy and Technology (CDT), Alan Davidson. Alan works broadly on issues relating to Internet policy including free speech and censorship, broadband access, Internet standard-setting, and international jurisdiction.

What Google is basically planning to do in Washington is watch over the rules and regulations that are passed and go through the house almost daily about telecommunications laws, broadband connectivity, copywright and fair use, and Intermediary liability.
