Google.org’s hybrid auto grants

Google has planned to dish out $1 million in grants that will fund the development and technology of hybrid cars. They are doing this through Google.org, their philanthropic arm Google.org.

Google.org also plans to release an RFP that would see $10 million towards any company that can help commercialize plug-in hybrids and fully electric cars.

On a side note, the solar panel installation at the Googleplex campus in Mountain View California is said to produce enough electricity to power up to 1000 average California homes.
